Who We Are

Formed in 1974, St. Charles County Ambulance District has grown steadily over the past five decades to become the largest ambulance district in the State of Missouri.  Through the years, the District has added a variety of programs and services to enhance the level of clinical care provided to our community.

In addition to 9-1-1 emergency calls, SCCAD paramedics provide non-emergency transfer services, critical care ground transport, mobile integrated health (community paramedic) programs, and specialty initiatives focused on complex pediatric patients and substance use disorder.

The District plays an active role in the St. Louis Metro Task Force 1, providing urban search & rescue services when requested throughout our region and beyond.  Locally, our Tactical EMS Unit is embedded with the St. Charles County Police Department SWAT Team, providing medical support during high-risk operations.

Throughout SCCAD’s history, our focus has evolved from a model of emergency services to one of mobile healthcare. In all our endeavors, our focus is to improve patient outcomes.
